Tune your GPEC4 PCM Controlled Dodge/Jeep/RAM with HP Tuners
HP Tuners is proud to offer a complete diagnostics and custom-tuning solution for Dodge/Jeep/RAM vehicles powered by the 2.0L GME Hurricane I4 Turbo engine starting with our GPEC4 PCM upgrade service. We offer a one-time, send-in upgrade service to get your vehicle’s PCM ready for tuning.
This controller can be found in the following supported vehicles:
- 2022-2023 RAM Rampage 2.0L (GME Hurricane I4)
- 2023-2024 Dodge Hornet 2.0L (GME Hurricane I4)
- 2018-2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L (GME Hurricane I4)
Once upgraded, you will use one of our
Dodge Smart Access Cables for Dodge/Jeep/RAM vehicles and an MPVI3 device to connect with VCM Scanner to scan, diagnose, and data log important parameters. Then use VCM Editor to access engine parameters within Airflow, Fuel, Spark, Torque Management, and more to build a custom tune that fits your needs. Plus, our solution provides this access directly via the OBDII port using an HP Tuners interface.
Upgrade Service Details
Our one-time, send-in upgrade option will upgrade your original PCM to enable tuning in VCM Suite. Simply send us your PCM and we’ll send it back to you fully upgraded for tuning in the latest VCM Suite (BETA).
Make sure to include the make and model of your vehicle, the stock file, and your VIN when checking out (always double-check your VIN for accuracy to avoid delays). This service takes 1-3 business days to complete (not including shipping times).
Important Note: This is a send-in service that requires you to send HP Tuners your original/spare PCM for servicing.
Everything you need to tune your Dodge/Jeep/RAM GPEC5 vehicle with HP Tuners:
- Purchase this service to upgrade your PCM for tuning.
- You must also purchase the 2018+ Dodge Smart Access Cable to enable read, write, and special functions for your vehicle.
- Download the latest version of VCM Suite BETA.
- Once upgraded, purchase the required number of Universal Credits to license your upgraded PCM.
- You must have an MPVI3 generation device for the Ram Rampage and Dodge Hornet. If you have a Wrangler 2.0L, that vehicle is compatible with MPVI2 and newer.
- Purchase a new MPVI3.
- Upgrade your old device for MPVI3.
Note: Universal Credits for licensing are not included in the cost of any upgrade service or purchase. Credits must be purchased separately
Service Notes
- Please note this service is required to tune your GPEC4 controlled vehicles with the 2.0L GME Hurricane I4 Turbo engine.
- In addition to this service, all models require an HP Tuners Dodge Smart Access Cable. We recommend you purchase this cable in a separate order to avoid delays.
- The supported 2022-2023 RAM Rampage and 2023-2024 Dodge Hornet are ONLY compatible with MPVI3 devices.
- Please ensure you are sending in ONLY a PCM. No brackets, rubber isolators, or other pieces should be included. These components may not be returned with your upgraded PCM.
- PCMs with broken "LOCKING" tabs or connectors WILL NOT be accepted for upgrades. No exceptions.
- This is a one-time upgrade that will not affect other operations of the PCM. The factory tools will still work for service.
How It Works
Step 1: Once you’ve confirmed your vehicle's support, purchase the upgrade service.
Step 2: After placing your order with the necessary information, see the "Shipping" for a shipping form and address. Fill out and
print this form to place in your shipping box. You will also receive an email immediately after placing your order with this shipping form and address.
Step 3: If you are sending in your stock PCM, remove the PCM from your vehicle. Then, package the PCM safely with the shipping form inside the box.
Step 4: Write your order number on the outside of the shipping box.
Step 5: Ship your PCM to HP Tuners US headquarters for servicing using any carrier you prefer. The shipping address can be found on
this page and in the email discussed in Step 2. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Step 6: HP Tuners will upgrade your PCM for tuning. Then, we’ll ship it back to you. The service takes 1-3 business days (not including shipping times).
Step 7: Once you receive your upgraded PCM, install it back into your vehicle. Then, license the upgraded PCM to your MPVI3 device by purchasing (3) Universal Credits. Once licensed, start tuning with your MPVI3 interface and the latest version of VCM Suite BETA.

Please allow 1-3 business days (plus the time to ship the PCM) per PCM that you send in for the upgrade process to finish (i.e., 2 PCMs = 2-6 business days).

NOTE: Customers are responsible for shipping costs when sending HP Tuners your ECM/PCM/TCM. The shipping charge at checkout only covers returning your control module after modification.
Disclaimers
These ECM/PCM/TCM services are completed at the owner's risk. HP Tuners will not be responsible for the vehicle, its powertrain, or electronics, nor how the control module is used, calibrated, and its functionality.
Due to the factory location of the PCMs in the vehicle, all PCMs will exhibit signs of weathering and wear, which is completely normal.

HP TUNERS' COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
HP Tuners designs and manufactures software and hardware tools for vehicle diagnostics, scanning, logging, calibration, and data acquisition purposes. The authorized use of such tools is to bring a motor vehicle into emissions compliance and/or to maintain emissions compliance, as well as for use on competition/racing and other exempted vehicles. HP Tuners does not create or provide tunes or pre-made calibrations.
HP Tuners' Terms of Use, policies, and agreements mandate that users shall comply with all local, state, and federal laws. In using HP Tuners software and hardware tools, you are representing, warranting, and agreeing not to use, employ or allow any HP Tuners tools to operate as a defeat device or to violate emissions compliance in any manner whatsoever. You further represent warrant and agree that the HP Tuners tools shall only be used by manufacturers, calibration businesses, and professionals to develop emissions-compliant and/or exempted calibrations.
Limited Product Warranties
Interfaces and Hardware Components
Duration: One (1) year from the date of purchase
Coverage: This limited one (1) year warranty only covers product defects caused by HP Tuners and is only redeemable within the original country or region of purchase by the original purchaser. This limited warranty does not extend to software or other digital products. To make a warranty claim, please provide your Proof of Purchase (original invoice and order number), device serial number (if applicable), Debug and Info logs, license file and photo evidence of defects to HP Tuners Support.
The Limited Warranty does not cover:
- Damage to product resulting from accidents, neglect, or misuse; exposure to liquid, moisture, or dirt; abnormal conditions (temperature extremes) or improper storage.
- Scratches or other cosmetic damage.
- Damage to connection points due to excessive force or improper use.
- Devices that have had the serial number removed, defaced, damaged, or altered in any way.
- Ordinary wear and tear.
- Products that have been modified, tampered with, or serviced by an unauthorized party.
Vehicle Control Modules

Vehicle Control Modules, whether new or modified by HP Tuners, carry no warranties, expressed or implied, and are offered "as is". In the event of a problem with a Vehicle Control Module product or service, please submit a ticket to HP Tuners
