COMP Cams is bringing the Thumpr camshaft series to 2011-14 and 2015-17 Ford Coyote 5.0L engines. The new COMP Cams Thumpr No Springs Required (NSR) Camshafts offer big power gains along with the unmistakable Thumpr idle lope, all without the need to upgrade valve springs.
Ford's Ti-VCT variable valve timing system is responsible for the flat torque curve and throttle response of the Ford Coyote 5.0L engine. In the past, Coyote enthusiasts have tuned the Ti-VCT system for more overlap to achieve a lopier idle sound. However, tuning the Ti-VCT system for the "ghost cam" effect can be detrimental to the Coyote 5.0L's performance. Offering increased duration with optimized intake and exhaust lobes, the Thumpr NSR cams deliver a lopier idle than "ghost cams" along with uncompromised power gains in the mid to upper RPM range.

Requires cam phaser limiter kit (Part #5493) or optional cam pahser lockout kit (#5492).
This is the effective Lobe Separation Angle (LSA) with intake and exhaust cams in their resting or "parked" positions. When using these cams with the required COMP Cams Phaser Limiter Kit, this is the MAXIMUM effective LSA, but when running they can be tuned TIGHTER by as much as 20°.
