The Lamborghini Urus is arguably the hottest Performance SUV on the market today, and its VAG sister, the Audi RS Q8 is not too far behind. Indeed the Urus is taking the industry by storm, and is currently the #1 selling Lamborghini ever made. Undeniably this SUV is truly the perfect mix of supercar performance and 4-door (w/ trunk space) utility. Both vehicles share the same 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 engine under the hood, which is also the same engine found in the latest C8 generation Audi RS6/RS7.

CSF, along with its strategic manufacturing partner PWR, was the first company to introduce a dual high performance intercooler kit for the 4.0L engines in the Audi C8 RS6/7 in September of 2021. They’ve been a run-away success with over 200+ kits sold within nine months of their initial release. With proven performance on countless stage 2 vehicles with full bolt-on modifications pushing over 800hp, as well as a must-have component for a handful of vehicles around the world already pushing the platform into the elusive 4-digit power category with over 1000hp.

Naturally, CSF saw a great opportunity to bring the same proven performance of these exclusive intercooler kits over to this new VAG platform to help unlock all of the potential performance of these new Super Sport SUVs. CSF is proud to announce the limited edition release of the world’s first and only high performance intercooler kit for the 2019+ Lamborghini Urus and the 2020+ Audi RS Q8 / SQ8 / SQ7.

CSF once again has teamed up with leading Southern California VAG specialists, Pacific German from Orange County, CA to design, develop, and test the new intercooler kit on their very own Lamborghini Urus.

DESIGN & ENGINEERING
The Urus/RS Q8 Intercoolers have been meticulously designed and engineered to fit exactly like the OEM units they replace. Utilizing all factory mounting points, the installation is straightforward with a "drop-in fit" design. No cutting or modifications are required, and there is no need for aftermarket shrouds or hoses. All mating OEM components can be reused and reinstalled.

A Thermal Dispersion Black finish is used to further the cooling efficiency of these Intercoolers. Once the intercoolers have been delivered to CSF from PWR, they are then sent to a special aerospace company where they are finished with this special ceramic coating. This unique coating rapidly disperses heat away from the intercoolers at an increased rate of about 15% compared to non-coated parts. In addition, this special coating gives the intercoolers a durable OEM stealth look behind the open front fascia of the Urus.

OEM VS CSF by PWR
CSF has integrated the charge pipe into the design of the top end tank with an aluminum welded pipe replacing the factory bolt-on plastic part which is sealed with an inner O-Ring. The head technician at Pacific German stated that the OEM O-Rings may be a factory design flaw as they've had to replace them on several stock systems already. This failure causes boost leaks and triggers a check engine light which is quite surprising on such a new vehicle. The O-Rings on the Pacific German's Urus had already started showing signs of failure with only a few thousand miles on the odometer.

PWR INTERCOOLER CORE TECHNOLOGY
The same intercooler cores used in this application are the same style used in other CSF air-to-air systems previously developed for the Audi RS6/RS7, Porsche 992 Turbo/S, and 991 GT2RS with incredible results. These cores eliminate heat soak and lower Intake Air Temperatures (IATs) much more efficiently than traditional Bar & Plate designs. This gives us maximum performance for extended periods of time under demanding driving conditions and in vehicles with increased power levels through modifications and tuning.

The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in the Urus & RS Q8 starts to experience debilitating heat soak and progressively increasing IATs with the OEM intercoolers. This results in the ECU pulling engine timing and drastically decreasing power output. The CSF by PWR Intercoolers solve this issue and allow vehicles to perform at optimal levels consistently and for prolonged periods of time.

Performance gains should be very similar to the results seen on the Audi C8 RS6/RS7. CSF recorded gains of 20 WHP and 18 WTQ with a stock tune and 10 WHP and 20 WTQ with a high-performance tune during dyno tests of the CSF #8194 (Audi RS6/RS7 High-Performance Intercooler System). Also, Intake Air Temperatures (IAT) were much more stable after multiple hard pulls resulting in more consistent dyno numbers.

CNC MACHINED BILLET ENDS
As with CSF's other products produced through our PWR partnership, the new Urus/RS Q8 Intercoolers feature 100% TIG-welded machined billet aluminum end tanks. This is a very important upgrade compared to the OEM crimped plastic composite end tanks.

This feature is not only aesthetically pleasing, but is also stronger offering longevity and durability on high-performance vehicles. The CNC machined billet end tanks are ready to withstand increased boost pressures from bolt-on modifications, higher performance tunes, as well as upgraded turbochargers.

DYNO TESTING AT AUTOWERKS ASIA
Autowerks Asia is one of Thailand's biggest tuners and are responsible for some of the wildest builds in Southeast Asia right now. This "Stage 3" Urus is the real deal sporting upgraded TTE888 EA825 Turbos, Supersprint downpipes, Akrapovic Exhaust, McChip DKR Tuning, and CSF High-Performance Intercoolers.

With this full "Stage 3" package Urus produced 836whp and 1031Nm (760 ft-lbs) of torque. A massive gain over the stock baseline numbers of ~650whp and ~825Nm (~608 ft-lbs) of torque.

What is truly remarkable about the CSF by PWR systems is their ability to recover and fight off heat-soak. The ability to maintain consistent power (and temperatures) run after run is more important than power gains in any motorsport setting. From our own testing on the RS6 coolers (which use similar core specs as the Urus/RS Q8 coolers), the biggest delta between CSF and OEM is that the performance from the OEM coolers deteriorates quickly after several dyno runs. Compare that to the CSF coolers and they stayed consistent from the first run right through to the fifth. This is especially beneficial for track cars, drag cars and even fast road cars. There's no power loss because of heat soak.
